Tips and Info
- We highly recommend travelling lightly. A maximum of a single piece of luggage per person, including space for any acquisitions on the tour, plus a single piece of hand luggage. Your hand luggage, i.e. a daypack or light bag for day excursions, should contain a collapsible umbrella or lightweight raincoat or cape, a lightweight cardigan, jersey or sweatshirt.
- You must be able bodied and of a reasonable level of fitness. We will be doing some walking every day. Please ensure sure that your walking footwear is suitable and properly worn in. Stepped streets and occasional unpaved paths will be encountered.
- For those who enjoy swimming, bring your bathing costume. Some of our hotels will have a swimming pool. There will be opportunities for swimming along the coast (the water quality is good) and for a thermal bath at the Terme di Santa Cesarea Puglia tour (cost not included in tour).
- Laundry facilities are available at the hotels where we are staying at a moderate cost not included in the tour fee.
- We typically run our tours in May and September being early spring and early autumn in Italy. The weather in these months is generally fine and warm. Daytime temperatures are typcially in the twenties. Cardigans or light pullovers are suggested for the evenings.
